Alone in the Dark for the Xbox 360

June 25th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Atari aims to bring Alone in the Dark to the Xbox 360 platform, many years after the seminal title made an appearance on the PC platform. Of course, the original had me pissing in my pants even though I did not have enough dough to purchase a sound card, relying on the measly PC speaker to come up with all the scary sound effects. The sequels failed to impress me, really, and around half a decade back we had yet another Alone in the Dark title on the PC, but that wasn’t anything to shout about either. Of course, this time round, the Xbox 360 won’t be the only platform with the Wii, PC, PS2 and PS3 platforms getting their fair share of horror gaming time as well.

Fashion Dash released

June 22nd, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

PlayFirst, Inc. is the company behind the DASH game series, and they have just released Fashion Dash to further expand the franchise line. This is a classic DASH title featuring a low learning curve despite having challenging-to-master time management mechanics. Folks who are jumping aboard the casual gaming bandwagon for the first time will definitely find this a delight, while devoted DASH fans will not find their skills from previous games in the series go unused. is the keyword here for a game such as this, and it will be interesting to see just how much productivity levels drop as folks install this on their respective computers.

Majesco Entertainment has just announced a brand new title for the Wii (seriously, their releases most of the time to date have been for the Wii and DS - do they not know that there are other consoles out there like the PS3 and Xbox 360?). Sea Life Safari hits Xbox LIVE Arcade

June 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Sierra Online has just launched Sea Life Safari for the Xbox LIVE Arcade for the Xbox 360 console, where players are thrown into the role of a deep sea photographer who is challenged to snap the most vivid wild sea creatures possible. I guess a game of such exploratory nature will appeal to folks who love all things underwater, while others who prefer nothing than to zap aliens will find this title to be rather boring. More on the game description right after the jump.

Secret Agent Clank on the PSP

June 18th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Sony PSP owners will rejoice knowing that Secret Agent Clank has just been made available on an exclusive basis for that particular platform, and knowing the fact that it was developed by the same team behind the seminal Ratchet & Clank: Size Matters team, High Impact Games, one can expect the same high quality in that title to be translated over in spirit to Secret Agent Clank. Inside this game you will find trademark Ratchet and Clank “tongue-in-cheek” humor, as Secret Agent Clank pays homage to classic spy movies in a virtual adventure that sees Clank rack up the frequent flier miles, heading off to the far reaches of the galaxy in order to acquit his best friend, Ratchet.

Deer Hunter Tournament coming this fall

June 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Deer Hunter is one of the biggest hunting game franchises of all time (partly due to the fact that there aren’t many other titles of the same genre around), and Atari will be bringing the franchise to the world of high definition by rolling out Deer Hunter Tournament for the Windows-based PC and the Xbox 360 console. With today’s graphical firepower found on both computers and console, it is no wonder that the latest outing in this franchise will aim to bring the most intense virtual hunting experience ever created for gamers. Heck, you don’t have to go at it on a solo basis either since Deer Hunter Tournament was specially designed to create a massive network of Deer Hunter players by offering for the first time ever in hunting games organized, constantly updated online tournaments for both Xbox LIVE online entertainment network and via Windows-based PCs.
