Harmonix, famous for being at the forefront of music-based games, has collaborated with MTV Games, a division of MTV Networks, partnering with Electronic Arts, has just unveiled plans to release Rock Band Track Pack Volume 1 for the Nintendo Wii console as well as the aging PS2. This pack will feature up to 20 tracks of electrifying classic hits as well as current favorites, of among the artists include Boston, Nine Inch Nails, Stone Temple Pilots, and All American Rejects. These 20 tracks all use original master recordings, so you can be sure that the audio quality is definitely top notch. I’d strongly recommend a high quality speaker system when you play this expansion in order to maximize your experience. The full list of artists and tracks (in that order) can be found after the jump.

Activision to launch Rapala Fishing Frenzy
May 3rd, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized
Activision will be launching Rapala Fishing Frenzy later this summer, bringing the latest instalment of a popular angling game from the games publisher to the masses. Developer Fun Labs has worked closely with Rapala, famously known as one of the world’s largest manufacturer of fishing lures and #1 fishing brand in the world. I suppose this is but an extremely niche title, since fishing isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea. If you happen to be on the other side of the fence though, it bodes well to be thrilled. After all, Rapala Fishing Frenzy will feature heart pounding fishing action in more than 20 different tournament events to grant you a somewhat similar excitement without having to even head outdoors. One drawback though - you will definitely miss the chance to bond with nature while being confined in your living room with this game
Rollin’ Rascals for the DS
May 2nd, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized
Majesco seems to be on a hot trail lately, blazing the DS with a slew of games. I think the company really got its second wind after Cooking Mama’s success which virtually saved its bacon. Today, we’ll look at a new title for the DS - Rollin’ Rascals. This puzzle game will definitely appeal to brainiacs as the player attempts to round up the lost residents of Kololo Kingdom and return them home. You are challenged to reunite matching pairs of adorable critters ranging from pandas to puppies to pigs, simply by rolling them around obstacles and into each other to clear the game board of pets before time runs out. A tinge of Katamari there, perhaps?
Garfield: Lasagna World Tour to launch in Q2
May 1st, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Conspiracy Entertainment and Blast! Entertainment Ltd. have entered a development agreement to launch a 3D adventure game based on the much-loved cartoon cat, Garfield. This title will be released sometime in Q2 2008 and will be known as “Garfield: Lasagna World Tour”. The popularity of Garfield cannot be denied, although his cartoons of old weren’t exactly a runaway success of any sort, the recent movies concerning Jim Davis’ creation definitely breathed new life into the syndicated comic. This nutty feline has been brought to life in Garfield: Lasagna World Tour, and judging by its name (as well as Garfield’s favorite hobby), there will be plenty of eating involved.
Majesco Entertainment ships Toy Shop for DS
April 30th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Majesco Entertainment has begun to ship Toy Shop to retail outlets nationwide, bringing yet another non-game title to the DS that will definitely appeal to casual gamers. More serious gamers ought to give this a miss - after all, the Sony PSP surely has more than its fair share of gaming titles that will tug the heartstrings and wallets of more mature gamers. Toy Shop requires one to have a more childlike approach to gaming, encouraging entrepreneurship and creativity by challenging players to run a successful business that creates and sells toys.
Crash Bandicoot back in new game
April 29th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Sierra Entertainment has announced Crash Bandicoot’s return to the video game world, and this platform character which made his debut with the original PlayStation seems to hang around pretty well after all these years, considering it was seen to be rather weak when compared to Sonic and Mario. The marsupial hero is back in a new adventure known as Crash Bandicoot: Mind over Mutant, and will be developed by Radical Entertainment, a Sierra Entertainment studio. Crash won’t be a PlayStation exclusive only though, as he will make an appearance on the Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360, PS2, Nintendo DS and PSP. What, no PS3?!

April 28th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Sierra Entertainment just announced The Legend of Spyro: Dawn of the Dragon that will make its way across a whole bunch of platforms, including the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2 and Nintendo DS. This will be the third chapter in the popular Legend of Spyro trilogy, featuring voice acting from two popular Hollywood leading men - Elijah Wood and Gary Oldman. In addition, you will also hear the voices of Christina Ricci, Blair Underwood, Mark Hamill and Wayne Brady throughout the game, making one wonder just how much closer to Hollywood will computer games get in the near future.
Moshi Monsters launched
April 27th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Mind Candy has rolled out Moshi Monsters, yet another virtual world for the kids of today to indulge in. I suppose this is another distraction, considering the amount of social networking sites they already have to keep them occupied. With Moshi Monsters, chances are they’ll find it a whole lot harder trying to juggle their time and prioritize just exactly how they want to spend their Internet hours. Players in Moshi Monsters will adopt their own Monster, and just like a Tamagotchi, they’ll have to help keep it happy although not through the conventional method of feeding them and having a few games with them. Instead, these monsters will set daily puzzles to the owner, and solving these puzzles will keep your monster happy.

Smash Court Tennis 3 heads for the Xbox 360
April 24th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Smash Court Tennis 3 from Atari will be making its way to the Xbox 360, bringing yet another tennis game into the market. I suppose the first tennis game that really caught my attention and robbed plenty of hours from my life would be Virtua Tennis (I played the PC version), and it is good to see another tennis title appear on the Xbox platform. You will get all the larger-than-life names in this game, including the current king and queen, Roger Federer and Maria Sharapova. Needless to say, the graphics will be top notch while you get a whole variety of gameplay enhancements in addition to online play through Xbox LIVE this June.
