A quick announcement about a new section of the site entitled Soapbox. This is an area of the site where we take the time to moan, complain and basically just get off our chest any issues about being a gamer which are particularly annoying and irksome.

Hopefully you’ll find it entertaining, and you may even agree with some of them!

New Arcade

We’re excited to announce that we have added an arcade to the Game Addicts forum. So when you get bored of chatting you can now try to beat fellow members scores (I am the Tetris king). Our free arcade is tightly coupled with the forum for all the high score tables, so you’ll need to register (free) if you haven’t already.

It’s taken us a while to integrate it to the site but I’m pleased to say that Game Addicts now has its own forums.

We will be keeping adverts on the forum to a minimum as we want it to be a place to chat without being bombarded with distractions and like on this blog we promise to never ever show pop-ups of any kind, ever.

New Site Skin

First off Happy New Year Everybody.

As a late Christmas present to ourselves we decided to get a new skin custom designed for the site. I’ve got to say I’m really impressed with the results. So thanks again Cien you’ve really excelled yourself (again).

Game Addicts Character Advent Calendar

December is almost upon us, so what better way to count down to Christmas than with our very own advent calendar!

Each day during December we’ll be featuring a different gaming character. Some you’ll definitely have heard of, but there might be one or too there which are a bit more obscure that only those with a long memory or who are truly Game Addicts will know. Either way, we hope you’ll enjoy our little stroll down memory lane.

Be sure to call back each day to see who’s next. We’d love to hear your comments on the characters we present, your first memory of that character, your favourite game in which they feature, that kind of thing! Happy Advent!

I’ve always been interested in coding games and have been known to play the odd one or two. So when looking for another theme to start a site on games seemed a pretty logicial step. I’m more a a puzzle game fan rather than an all action shooter though I still enjoy the odd first person gore fest.
