Looking for something different apart from the standard videogame consoles that are in the market at the moment? For folks who cannot afford the likes of a Nintendo Wii, Xbox 360 and Sony PS3, Zeebo Inc. will be offering their new wireless videogame console that will begin shipping in Brazil from next month onwards, where it will be the first affordable 3D game console that was specially designed for emerging global markets. This console boasts a secure 3G wireless game delivery while addressing the special requirements of these regions. Strangely enough, the current generation of videogame consoles are prohibitively expensive in Brazil, where they retail for up to five times more the projected $199 price point attached to the Zeebo. Talk about an inflated market!

Sony PS3 finally arrives in Latin America
February 23rd, 2009 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
When we talk about video game sales in America, most of the time we concentrate on the northern continent as that is where the action’s at. Folks living in Latin America might have to wait for months or in this case, years before a console is made available there (or sometimes, never, hence the market there having to rely on imports). At long last, Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) has officially announced that their PlayStation brand will make headway into Latin America. In order to commemorate the move, it will roll out its whole family of PlayStation consoles to that continent, including the PS3, PSP and aged PS2.
Activision Standalone Guitar Hero Controllers now available in North America
February 16th, 2009 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Guitar Hero fans who want to give their Guitar Hero playing experience a boost can upgrade their controller thanks to Activision Publishing, Inc. who has just made available their individual guitar controllers and drum kit controllers on North American store shelves since yesterday. It is right now compatible with Guitar Hero World Tour but will also play nice with Guitar Hero Metallica which will be out later this spring. As for the wireless drum kit controller, it will come with a trio of drum pads, a couple of raised cymbal pads and a bass kick pedal, accompanied by velocity-sensitive drum heads with soft rubber construction to deliver that certain bounce when struck with a drum stick that drummers are used to. No rocket scientists required here to set up the entire thingamajic, as it is highly portable and can be stowed away easily. For those who think about the future, the drum kit controller can be expanded with a second bass kick pedal which will certainly appeal to expert gamers who love rocking to double bass pedal charts in Guitar Hero Metallica. The Guitar Hero World Tour guitar controller will be equipped with a touch-sensitive slide on the neck and works with the entire back catalog of Guitar Hero – needless to say, it will be compatible with Guitar Hero Metallica too.

Vibras Five. One Surround Sound Headset System
December 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
We’ll take a break from all the usual game releases for today, instead concentrating on a new piece of hardware that recently gained Microsoft’s approval as an official Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system accessory, the new Vibras Five. One Surround Sound Headset System. Meant for use with the runaway hit console from Microsoft, the Vibras Five. One was specially designed with gamers in mind, relying on Dolby Digital AC3 and special “sound-canal” technology to create a true 5.1 channel surround sound experience that will give you the best audio gaming experience possible, thanks to five individually encoded discrete audio channels pulsating through 10 speakers (five in each ear cup).
Logitech G13 advanced gameboard to put you at the top of your game
December 11th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
A bad workman blames his tools, or so they say. How many times have you heard somebody whine in a game that he/she lost just because you have superior hardware? Granted, something as glaring as a much better video card for superior frame rates do go to a certain extent in helping you emerge the victor in an FPS shootout, but what if both rigs are of the same standard, and you use a fairly standard 800dpi optical mouse? Well, that just means your opponent isn’t as skilled as you are, so why not purchase the Logitech G13 advance keyboard for him/her this Christmas and kill two birds with one stone – you’ll not only do a good deed, but make the whiner shut up for good.
Walmart claims to have enough Wiis in stock for Christmas
December 9th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Two years on and Nintendo is still pretty adamant that their best selling Wii console will still come up short during the upcoming Christmas holiday season in the US, but not if Walmart has anything to say about it. According to Walmart, this family store claims to have tens of thousands of Wii consoles in stock, allowing parents to fulfill their kids’ gift wishes without having to line up on a cold morning for a limited amount of stock nor purchase one off eBay at an exorbitant price. The offer that Walmart is having ain’t too shabby either, so take a gander after the jump to know more.
Fanatec Porsche 911 Carrera Racing Wheel arrives on PS3 and PC
November 21st, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Are you a racing simulator fan? If so, and if you get most of your gaming kicks off a PC or PS3, then might I recommend you take a look at the Fanatec Porsche 911 Carrera Racing Wheel? After all, surely you must have lusted after a supercar like the Porsche (assuming you’re one of us ordinary Joes who can’t afford such beauties in our garage – if you’re rich enough or are driving your own Porsche, skip this), and here’s a chance for you to bring that loving feeling right into the comfort of your living room.
MeWe World rolls out SlideSlinger Wii Gun
November 15th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
Do you love shooting games? The Wii is a casual games platform that has seen its fair share of shooting games, including the Wii Play mini game ensemble, and that certainly won’t be the last in the life of the console. Why not prepare yourself for future shooting games by getting the right tool now? After all, it certainly is pretty hard to argue with a sticker price of just $14.95 for the SlideSlinger Wii Gun from MeWe World, as you will probably blow that kind of money on something useless in the near future anyways.
PosiMotion announces mobile Wi-Fi network gaming hub
October 24th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
PosiMotion has released the first mobile Wi-Fi network gaming hub in the world that caters for all Wi-Fi-enabled devices, and it is known as the G-Fi VS. This device is compatible with ad-hoc Wi-Fi connectivity between multiple devices, even if the range surpasses a hundred feet. Of course, I don’t see any reason for you to stray so far away from your computer or console unless you have a really, really large screen to play with. No 802.11n connectivity here as it is limited to just 802.11 b/g support, but that’ll be enough for multiple player games, file, media, and data sharing.
