PS3 and Xbox 360 owners will be pleased to know that Square Enix has just announced the availability of the highly-anticipated Action-RPG known as NIER, where it will hit North America retailers nationwide. Nice to know that there is life apart from the usual Final Fantasy series, and for those who are not in the know, NIER is about the despairing story of a world afflicted by an apocalyptic plague and a father’s desperation to protect his daughter from the dark denizens of this frightening future. As with any decent RPG, you will be able to arm yourself with mighty weapons and powerful magic as you play the role of the protagonist, Nier, while having formidable allies aid your quest against waves of enemies and giant bosses as you start to find out the truth behind the plague, your daughter and yourself.

Leading game developer and publisher Legacy Interactive has just announced that they will be rolling out the fourth title in its series of RealLife Emergency Room series, where it will be called Emergency Room: Heroic Measures. This title is good for both Mac and PC platforms, so it doesn’t really matter which side you’re on, you will still be able to relive the tension and stress in an emergency room without having to deal with the guilt associated of losing a patient in real life. THQ Wireless Inc. has just announced a trio of of Star Wars titles, namely Star Wars: Cantina, Star Wars: Yoda Soundboard and Star Wars: Lightsaber Duel (see image), where Lightsaber Duel is a highly anticipated sequel to the extremely popular Lightsaber Unleashed application, where all three can be downloaded via iTunes onto your iPod touch or iPhone. Needless to say, these titles will feature a colorful cast of characters from classic Star Wars films, offering a different form of portable entertainment from a humorous perspective.

Funcom has just announced that they will open up pre-orders for their latest title, ‘Rise of the Godslayer’, which is actually the first expansion for the highly acclaimed massively multiplayer online role-playing game ‘Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures’. This expansion will see you, the player, being thrown into the fictional eastern empire of Khitai, and will continue building on an already extensive Conan universe while enabling players to travel to a unique part of Conan’s world where an ancient traditional culture clashes with dark forces. ‘Rise of the Godslayer’ will not only offer an extension of an already massive game world, it will also introduce entirely new and exciting gameplay mechanics.
