Spore Origins out for iPhone/iPod touch this month

EA Mobile has just announced that Spore Origins will be hitting both the iPhone and iPod touch sometime later this month, making this an all-new title for both platforms. The game will make use of both devices’ integrated accelerometer, where players will have to tilt, turn and twist their way through a world consisting of primordial ooze.

Sony announces Resistance 2

Resistance: Fall of Man was one of the first few titles on the PS3 that garnered a fair bit of attention, although it wasn’t a system seller as touted. This time round, Resistance 2 hopes to bring more action packed moments to your living room, courtesy of independent developer Insomniac Games. Resistance 2 will hit North American retail stores this November 4, and will come in a special collector’s edition as long as there is some stock left. Each $79.99 purchase will include the following (available right after the jump).

Activision plans for Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer beta

Activision Publishing and developer Treyarch are planning to release Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer betas this October on the Xbox 360 platform as well as the PC. Both betas will function as an early opportunity for players to practice the tactics required for survival in the intense chaos of Call of Duty: World at War’s Pacific and European theaters. In this title, you will experience the game’s new squad system, but it won’t ditch old fan favorites such as perks and kill streaks.

Guitar Hero World Tour raises the standards

The Guitar Hero franchise has certainly brought gaming to new (and higher) standards, and this time round Activision Publishing (the company that publishes the game franchise) ups the ante by featuring several of the most influential instrument and equipment brands in the music industry. Gamers will now be able to pick up in-game sponsorships and gear from various famous names such as AMPEG, Audio-Technica, EMG Pickups, Ernie Ball, Evans Drumheads, Guitar Center, Krank Amplification, Mackie, Marshall, Orange County Drum & Percussion, Pork Pie Percussion, Regal Tip, Sabian cymbals, Vox and Zildjian drumsticks.

Perfect World to launch Dream Club expansion pack

Square Enix announces Chrono Trigger for the US

Chimps Ahoy! experience price drop

Griptonite Games has announced a price drop for Chimps Ahoy!, an original iPhone game. In addition, this title will now be available in a new lite version, and both versions are available over the Apple App store. The full version will retail for $4.99, and it will accompany the release of an update too. The Lite version is free, making available seven levels to the curious gamer that ought to be enough for one to have a pretty solid idea on what the game is like in the full version. Version 1.1 of Chimps Ahoy! will come with both audio and gameplay updates.

Atari to launch The Witcher: Enhanced Edition

Gameloft launches Midnight Pool
