Blizzard Entertainment announced this week that their online game World of Warcraft has reached 5 million players worldwide. The announcement is a testament to both mainstream popularity and the incredible staying power of the game.

While World of Warcraft isn’t the first massively multiplayer role playing game (MMORPG) to hit the market, but it is unquestionably the largest of its kind. Even Everquest, with its long-time loyal cult-like following, hasn’t gained the mainstream popularity enjoyed by WOW. And as Blizzard continues to push the game into new regions, the WOW player population continues to grow. Read the rest of this entry »

Ultimate Spider-man

December 20th, 2005 by Anita in Game Reviews

ultimatespiderman
Ultimate Spider man for NintendoDS is of course based on the original story line of Spiderman. It was developed by Vicarious Visions and is published by Activision.

This one is not the free form style of game but is more of a linear adventure. You will be playing mainly on a timer most of the time and saving one person and getting to the next one before time is up. If you fail to get there in the allotted time, you must restart the level. At least you do not have to restart the entire game just the level that you failed to complete.

Neopets: The Darkest Faerie

December 13th, 2005 by Anita in Game Reviews

darkestfaerie
This may not be a macho man game but I know I like my own neopets at Neopia and think there are plenty of others out there that will enjoy this great game for PlayStation 2.

Your adventure begins with you being either Tormund, which is a kind of a knight, or Roberta, which is a princess and a sorcerer apprentice. You are in the wonderful land of Meridell where you will be defending its castles and exploring dungeons. You can switch back and forth between both characters to use their abilities to forge further.

The terrain is quite awesome with splendid castles, rocky steppes, swamps, and so much more for you to explore.
You will be able to have all kinds of equipment at your side such as shields, armor, swords and wands to fight off the powers of the Darkest Faerie and her minions.
