Majesco announces Data East Arcade Classics for Wii
February 21st, 2010 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Majesco recently announced a piece of good news – they will help you relive those moments where you “wasted” your youth at the arcades by feeding those machines quarter after quarter, with the Data East Arcade Classics heading for the Nintendo Wii platform. This would mean leaving your quarters behind in a piggybank where they’re supposed to help you out on a rainy day, allowing you to replay the arcade era’s best titles straight in your living room without having to worry about your parents sneaking up on you or having to share second hand cigarette smoke with everyone else.
Licensed by G-mode and developed by G1M2, the arcade compilation features 15 fan favorites — including BurgerTime, Bad Dudes vs. Dragon Ninja, Burnin’ Rubber, Heavy Barrel, Side Pocket, Street Hoop, Peter Pepper’s Ice Cream Factory, Magical Drop III and many more — and offers the nostalgic appeal of coin-op gaming at the great value of only $19.99. Data East Arcade Classics gives both new and old-school players access to numerous sports, puzzle, shooter and twitch action titles. As they play, gamers can unlock bonuses by completing up to 75 different goals and link their high scores to their Mii characters. Even though the title represents the golden age of arcade gaming, players will notice modern additions, like the ability to load, save and pause at any point during play, as well as compatibility with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk, Classic Controller or GameCube Controller.
All games featured will come with single-player, two-player head-to-head or co-operative multiplayer support for the added touch of socializing with family and friends who drop by. Despite being games from yesteryears, Data East Arcade Classics for Wii has been slapped with T for Teen where its rating is concerned, so no point getting this for your pre-adolescents!
