PopCap Games announces Bejeweled Twist for DS
January 22nd, 2010 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
PopCap Games, purveyor of all casual titles, has recently announced that they will be bringing Bejeweled Twist for the DS platform. Guess with the DS’ install base of multiple millions alongside most of its owners being fans of casual gaming titles, this could prove to be a rather potent partnership which might result in even more sales over time. Of course, with the game coming on a different platform, you can more or less expect different capability when gaming on this new adaptation. Interestingly enough, Bejeweled Twist is the fifth Nintendo DS game that PopCap has released.
Bejeweled Twist for Nintendo DS faithfully recreates the manic excitement and split-second strategy of the newest entry in the beloved PC game franchise. This adaptation features all of the action and visual polish that PopCap players have come to expect while providing new content and gameplay enhancements especially for the DS — making it a true standout title in the handheld category. Fans and newcomers alike can easily pick up the new stylus-based controls, building on the basic mechanic of twisting two-by-two squares of gems to match colors/shapes. In the all-new multiplayer Battle mode*, two players can challenge one another over the Nintendo Wireless Communications network, while playing with either their retail cartridge, or using the DSiWare version of Bejeweled Twist, which launched last December.
You will be able to pick up Bejeweled Twist DS for $19.99. Just in case you are a natural loner and do not have any friends around (or those with a Nintendo DS), you can always settle for various gameplay styles in the single player mode, ranging from classic to zen, blitz and challenge.
