Razer unveils new peripherals for Xbox 360
January 18th, 2010 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
We were starting to wonder whether Razer is just going to limit their scope to just computer gaming peripherals, and are pleasantly surprised to know that the company has started to venture into the potentially lucrative segment of home consoles with a couple of new gaming peripherals known as the Razer Onza as well as the Razer Chimaera. The former is a professional gaming controller for the Xbox 360, while the latter is a professional gaming headset that is also meant for the same console, offering something different from the stock controllers and headsets you get from Microsoft.
The Razer Onza Professional Gaming Controller for Xbox 360 and Chimaera Professional Gaming Headset for Xbox 360 were specially designed with the hardcore gamer in mind, where they boast special features that aim to enhance the Xbox 360 gaming experience. With the Razer Onza, you will get Razer Hyperesponse buttons, analog sticks with customizable tension and a programmable multi-function button (MFB). As for the Razer Chimaera, this headset comes with a 5.1 Channel Virtual Surround sound system, a Daisy-Chain cable system and a circumaural design that offers optimum sound quality and comfort.
Expect to fork out $49.99 for the Razer Onza Professional Gaming Controller, although we don’t have any further information concerning the Razer Chimaera. One thing is for sure though – Xbox 360 owners will soon have different options of equipment when it comes to slaying their opponents in the virtual world, and having a good and functional tool is always an added advantage. Of course, if you continue to lose your online battles, then there isn’t much that fantastic hardware can do for you apart from you picking up a different hobby or perhaps engage in a less comeptitive gaming title.
