November 18th, 2009 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
What constitutes as a hero for you? Is it those spandex-wearing mutants from X-Men, or do the Justice League and Fantastic Four make the cut? For many everyday people, heroes are those who can be depended upon under all circumstances, especially when the tension runs high and one is in a difficult position. Having said that, many doctors and firefighters were heroes during the dreaded 9/11 incident at Manhattan, and Majesco did not miss out on that point by making availabl My Hero: Doctor and My Hero: Firefighter on the Nintendo DS. Both of them are adventure simulation franchises which target aspiring heroes by enabling players to step into the shoes of real-life role models as they fight against time to extinguish fires and save lives among others.
My Hero: Doctor
In My Hero: Doctor, players take on the role of a doctor’s apprentice as they manage 10 major medical emergencies by utilizing the microphone and stylus as an all-in-one medical tool. Players will treat and cure patients by using real medical equipment to help scan for fractures, inject medication, and apply a defibrillator. By successfully maneuvering the ambulance around obstacles on their way to helping people in need, players unlock upgrades and earn awards which help them progress in their medical career. With enough heart, stamina and skill, they can reach the Hall of Fame as the town’s best doctor. My Hero: Firefighter
In My Hero: Firefighter, players move up the ranks to Captain by putting out raging fires and courageously saving people and animals through 13 hazardous missions. The Nintendo DS stylus transforms into a hose, axe and extendable ladder as players safely drive fire engines through crowded city streets and react instantaneously to house fires, chemical explosions and forest fires. Players can also upgrade trucks and equipment through play as they learn real fire safety and survival tips.
Both titles are rated E10+ and E for Everyone, respectively, where they will retail for $19.99 each.
