It goes without saying many of us, when first exposed to the world of video games, often included Mario Bros. as one of the main attractions. Anyone who had a NES back in the day was considered lucky, and do you still remember opening up your Christmas presents under the tree, hoping to find a NES inside? Well, how times have changed, with Mario still hanging around with his brother Luigi, in their latest game – New Super Mario Bros. Wii. This title heralds a new era in the history of the series, where it enables up to four players to play at the same time, be it co-operatively or competitively.

Packed with beloved characters and remarkable new features, New Super Mario Bros. Wii takes the classic side-scrolling adventure of the Super Mario Bros. series and gives it a manic multiplayer boost. Featuring free-form multiplayer action, players can save their companions from danger or literally toss them right into it. While controlling Mario, Luigi or one of two playable Toad characters, players can jump in and join a friend’s Story Mode game at the start of any level. The game also features two dedicated multiplayer modes, Coin Battle mode and Free For All mode, that let players easily select their favorite stages and compete across a variety of objectives. Each copy of New Super Mario Bros. Wii comes in a red case with a foil-stamped cover.

Some of the new features to keep New Super Mario Bros. Wii fresh is Mario’s ability to transform into Penguin Mario, enabling him to function as a Snow Bros. by tossing snowballs while sliding on his rotund belly at breakneck speed. Apart from that, fond memories of Super Mario World on the SNES comes flooding back as you can also hop onto a Yoshi character, using his tongue to eat enemies, items and fireballs.
