Sony PSP Go is out

Sony’s PSP was originally meant to take over where the Game Boy left off, featuring way superior hardware at the time of its launch compared to the Game Boy Advance, and it had the momentum of the PS2’s phenomenally huge success worldwide behind it. Unfortunately, it seems that Nintendo is a tougher nut to crack than expected in the world of handheld gaming – after all, they have been dominating it for the better part of a few decades to date. Still, the PSP is no slouch when it comes to quality titles over the years, and has a pretty huge install base (nothing compared to the DS base of course), where the handheld console has already made it to the third revision with a latest variant being released – the UMD-less PSP-N1000, also known as the PSP Go.

The ultimate gaming and entertainment device, the PSPgo system features a sleek pocket-sized design that’s more than 50 percent smaller and more than 40 percent lighter than the original PSP-1000. PSPgo incorporates a sliding screen that is both practical for the system’s space-saving design and aesthetically appealing. The PSPgo system is designed for the portable digital lifestyle, offering 16GB of internal flash memory to store plenty of games, videos, music, and photos. The system also offers expandable storage through a slot that fits a Memory Stick Micro, an ultra-small card the size of a thumbnail with a current capacity of up to 16GB.

At $249.99 a pop, would you pick the regular PSP over the PSP Go, and what are your reasons for doing so?
