Football – one game that manages to unite all race, creed and religion, regardless of whether it is the American or global variety. Today, we’ll look at the former variant as Atari brings the next installment of the number one youth football video game franchise sometime next month with a video game title known as Backyard Football ‘10. This will be the first time the said title arrives on the Xbox 360 platform, where it will also be accompanied by Microsoft’s “Family Friendly” status that ought to be suitable for all ages, helping grandpa bond with his grandchildren over some pizza, Coke and a decent football game. Backyard Football ‘10 won’t be limited to just the Xbox 360 platform though as it will also make an appearance on the Wii and PS2 (!), offering a new co-op play capability for exciting 2-vs-2 sessions while featuring a roster full of NFL superstars featured as animated middle-schoolers in the game.

Backyard Football ‘10, featuring NFL players as kids, combines realistic NFL plays and strategies with wild arcade style power moves and comical scenarios so gamers of all ages can learn the fundamentals of football while having fun. Multiple levels make it easy enough for beginners, yet challenging enough for even die-hard football fans. In addition to new co-op, 2 vs. 2 multi-player action, Backyard Football ‘10 features enhanced controls, new unlockables, insane power ups, custom teams and characters, multiple play modes (single player, season play, tournament and all-pro) as well as a hall of fame from Backyard Football ‘09.

The Xbox 360, Wii and PS2 versions will retail for $39.99, $29.99 and $19.99, respectively, when available next month.
