Atari and Cryptic Studios have come together to work on a new game where superhero fans can be proud of – this title will be known as Champions Online, and it will arrive for the PC in the near future after going gold. Based on the award-winning Champions pen-and-paper role-playing games while running on the groundbreaking Cryptic Engine, Champions Online will enter into a a rich universe of heroes and villains alongside unparalleled intrigue and adventure to keep you mesmerized. The gaming experience will start with Champions’ immensely powerful character creation and customization tool that offers players unrestrained ability to create a truly unique superhero, as they have a vast array of choices of costume pieces, body types, powers, and character appearances that number in the thousands.
No superhero, however unique, can be complete without a super villainous Nemesis or two. These ultimate adversaries appear throughout a hero’s career, sometimes issuing challenges, other times ambushing their heroic foe. Champions Online brings epic superheroism to the MMORPG genre with depth that challenges the most experienced online gamers, while its fast-paced action promises to engage new entrants to the online superhero universe.

To do so, you must register at Fileplanet beforehand, and if you find yourself sold, there is always the option to place a pre-order at Wal-Mart, GameStop, Best Buy, Direct2Drive, and Amazon where the game ships this September.
