Majesco announces Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel

August 4th, 2009 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

I remember growing up in the 1980s and getting fed by an unhealthy amount of cartoon, where among the more notable lot include TMNT, Spiderman and his Amazing friends, Transformers, Macross and Alvin and The Chipmunks. The last of the lot is more musical than the rest, and it is nice to see them resurrect the title in a real life movie recently, with Majesco announcing Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel for both the Wii and Nintendo DS platforms.

In Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel, players can play as Alvin and The Chipmunks (Alvin, Simon, Theodore) or The Chipettes (Brittany, Jeanette, Eleanor). Musical sparks ignite as they jet around the world, rock the house in 25 concert locations on Wii and 11 in the Nintendo DS version, and perform together in the ultimate concert finale. Featuring songs from the Grammy and American Music Award-winning Alvin and The Chipmunks library, the game lets players use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk or Nintendo DS stylus to keep the rhythm in the main game and in three mini-games. Players will gain thousands of fans by keeping the band on tempo through songs that grow more challenging and complex.

If you decide to pick up this title, rest assured that you will be able to enjoy hours of replayability and family fun since the game itself offers gamers the freedom to repeat their performance in any of the venues over and over again with the associated music tracks that feature The Chipmunks, The Chipettes, or a duet with both bands. You can also unlock the Expert Mode after beating the game in Normal Mode or breaking half a dozen attendance records, where you will naturally be thrown into a higher level of difficulty for greater challenge. Expect ot see Alvin and The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel arrive later this December on the Wii and Nintendo DS.
