EA Sports Challenge Series coming your way
July 25th, 2009 by Edwin in Game Previews
Electronic Arts, the computer gaming giant finds yet another way to make you part with your time in real life for the virtual world by working with Major League Gaming (MLG) in order to bring the 2009 EA SPORTS Challenge Series to gamers worldwide. Starting from this summer onwards, MLG will operate live and online qualifying competitions for the vast host of titles from the EA SPORTS line-up. This effort will also see Best Buy chip in with their part, by functioning as a presenting partner for the competitions, leveraging its position as one of the nation’s leading gaming retailers. If you’re interested in taking part, make sure you own the PS3 first since the 2009 EA SPORTS Challenge Series works only on that console.
MLG and EA SPORTS are also teaming to create new online offerings for the EA SPORTS Challenge Series, allowing for competitors to join the 2009 EA SPORTS Challenge Series online for the first time. Both online and live competitors in the 2009 EA SPORTS Challenge Series will be competing for cash and prizes totaling $170,000, made possible by Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc.
According to Steven Chiang, senior vice president, EA SPORTS, “For nearly a decade, the EA SPORTS Challenge Series has represented what our brand is all about – competition and a passion for sports. In partnering with MLG and Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc , we’re going to offer our consumers the chance at competition like they’ve never had before, at the highest levels of gaming, and with all the bragging rights on the line.” If you’re a junkie for tough competition, hopefully Electronic Arts won’t butcher this effort.
