I remember seeing advertisements for Mad Dog McCree in my comics back in the days where a regular issue did not go for more than a buck – talk about the rate of inflation these days! Well, the game itself has made a comeback with the new Mad Dog McCree Gunslinger Pack from Majesco that is released for the Wii. Now available at all good retail outlets near you, the game’s premise comprises of ruthless outlaw Mad Dog McCree who is going on a rampage with a nasty pack of wanted fugitives in tow, leaving behind a trail of death and destruction. You are the hero, of course, stepping in as the only gun-slinging bounty hunter who has the skills to take him down. This three-in-one collection of classic arcade games will consist of Mad Dog McCree, Mad Dog 2: The Lost Gold and The Last Bounty Hunter.

Players use their Wii Remote or Wii Zapper accessory as the ultimate six shooter in this Wild West adventure featuring live actors. Fast reflexes and precision shooting are the keys to survival when outlaws ambush from every angle and nail-biting showdowns are only a bullet away. As they pursue Mad Dog and four other wanted fugitives, players can choose from three different difficulty levels to hunt them alone or join forces with others in two multiplayer modes – Posse and Rebel. In Posse Mode, players work together with up to three friends in pursuit of a combined high score, while in Rebel Mode they work independently with up to four bounty hunters for individual high scores. Whether sharpshooting solo or with a posse, the Mad Dog McCree Gunslinger Pack lets players deliver their own brand of Wild West justice and walk away with their gun smokin’!

Paying for old games doesn’t sound like a very good idea for me, but I suppose that folks who have a soft spot for these titles won’t mind forking out $19.99 for the Wii edition, what more with a new control scheme that ought to introduce a certain level of freshness to gameplay.
