Majesco Entertainment is certainly on a roll here, as the company has announced its latest title for the Nintendo DS, known as Dawn of Heroes. Finally, a gaming title that is different from those casual kiddy games for the DS as it takes on a more mature approach. Developed in conjunction with Wicked Studios, Dawn of Heroes is part of the tactical RPG genre that merges the best of both worlds – classic RPG concepts (such as character development, epic combat, quests and puzzles) in a humorous style, alongside the grey matter required to force an effective strategy when approaching a battle. Inside Dawn of Heroes, head-to-head multiplayer action is also supported in addition to the ability to trade collected items. These are vital when it comes to building a community of worldwide heroes that ought to increase the game’s replayability factor.

Featuring more than 50 playable missions with branching paths and side quests, Dawn of Heroes takes players to the endangered Kingdom of Brimthule. Brimthule’s King sacrificed himself to entomb the great beast Ragnakore within stone. Now players must save the kingdom by battling the curses, monsters and misfortunes that have ensued following the King’s tragic demise. Utilizing a streamlined user interface that allows players to command all aspects of their adventure with the Touch Screen and stylus, the game contains 25 playable classes from six unique factions and a multitude of enemies. In addition, the massive world of Brimthule and its unique inhabitants are rendered in detailed 3D graphics that help bring the adventure to life.

Dawn of Heroes for the Nintendo DS won’t be out so soon though, as it will arrive only in the summer. We expect this title to be priced higher than the regular $19.99 price point that Majesco sticks to for its casual gaming titles, but it ought to be less compared to what Square Enix pegs their DS games at ($39.99, non-negotiable).
