Bruce Springsteen goes on tour in video game

January 18th, 2009 by Edwin in General Gaming News

Bruce Springsteen is a legend by any means, and he too will take the route where some older acts have gone to – and I don’t mean dying due to a drug overdose, but appearing on Activision’s Guitar Hero World Tour instead at the end of this month (January 27, 2009) with a couple of downloadable songs in tow. This will be available on an exclusive basis in the game itself, so Bruce Springsteen fans – you know what you need to do: Go out and purchase a console that runs Guitar Hero World Tour if you haven’t done so already! This release will coincide with that of his new album known as Working on a Dream.

The two-song Track Pack will be available for download simultaneously with the album’s release on January 27, 2009. The Track Pack, which features the iconic Springsteen song “Born to Run” and “My Lucky Day,” a brand-new track off his new album, Working on a Dream, will be free to download during the first week of the album’s release. The Bruce Springsteen Track Pack will be available on Xbox LIVE Marketplace for the Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation Store for the PLAYSTATION 3 computer entertainment system and as singles for Wii for free between January 27, 2009, and February 4, 2009. Starting February 5, 2009, the Track Pack will be available on Xbox 360 for 320 Microsoft Points, on the PLAYSTATION 3 system for $3.99 and as singles on Wii for 200 Wii Points each.

This is certainly a pleasing piece of news for Bruce Springsteen fans. Which other artiste(s) would you like to see make headlines on Guitar Hero World Tour next?
