iBowl Live brings action to four players now

January 16th, 2009 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

iBowl was a pretty interesting game by itself, but now the iBowl Live update from SGN offers both iPhone and iPod Touch users a new way to engage in a live bowling match, with the ability to go up against four other people. If you think your skill is pretty much up there with the best of them and don’t mind going up against random opponents, then opt for the iBowl ‘Challenge’ menu. Of course, you can also choose to challenge people whom you know, which is always more fun in a group of close friends as it offers a great conversation piece at the weekly meet-up at the local pub, much to the chagrin of their respective womenfolk who happen to tag along. Just to know how popular the iBowl app is, it is the number 4 free downloaded game on iTunes last year, hitting over four million unique downloads – so the iBowl Live ought to see similar figures (if not more) due to its higher level of interactive options.

In addition to new 3D graphics and the option to choose from three different bowling alleys, options include a ‘Random Match’ setting, or by selecting to join a ‘Competition’ the game simulates playing up to four people in a single bowling booth. These play modes allow players to see their opponents take a turn live or play in real time which then displays the scores and progress of your opponent. The new iBowl update is the first sporting game to enable real time, multi-synchronous game play for iPhone and iPod Touch.

Why don’t you give iBowl Live a chance if you haven’t done so already? I’m pretty sure those who have already tried out this game won’t have second thoughts when it comes to downloading the updated version.
