We’ll take a break from all the usual game releases for today, instead concentrating on a new piece of hardware that recently gained Microsoft’s approval as an official Xbox 360 video game and entertainment system accessory, the new Vibras Five. One Surround Sound Headset System. Meant for use with the runaway hit console from Microsoft, the Vibras Five. One was specially designed with gamers in mind, relying on Dolby Digital AC3 and special “sound-canal” technology to create a true 5.1 channel surround sound experience that will give you the best audio gaming experience possible, thanks to five individually encoded discrete audio channels pulsating through 10 speakers (five in each ear cup).
VIBRAS Five. One was developed and manufactured by Track Scan, based in Mooresville, N.C., a leading provider of headsets and audio scanners for motorsports. The company’s scanners that allow racing fans to listen to drivers, crews, officials, and radio and TV broadcasts are available for rent or purchase at every NASCAR Sprint Cup race and U.S. IndyCar Series events.
According to Glen Aikenhead, founder of Track Scan, “Whether you’re playing games, watching movies, listening to music on Xbox Live or through the console with your Zune, you will find VIBRAS Five. One to be the best performing 5.1 surround sound headset system on the market.”
Each $199 purchase of the Vibras Five. One Xbox System will come with a lightweight, comfortable headset, Dolby Digital AC3 Technology decoder box, detachable microphone with an in-line voice amplifier box, optical fiber cable, AC power supply and replacement ear pad covers. Those who want to pick up a USB surround sound system for PCs can do so by forking out $159. These headphones will make an appearance at CES 2009 which is happening just a couple of weeks away.
