SingStar ABBA headed for PS2 and PS3

December 5th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

I’m pretty sure many of us have already watched Mamma Mia! at the cinema, and realized that Pierce Brosnan cannot sing. Makes me wonder how did James Bond get all those women into bed then, surely he didn’t serenade them with a guitar but must’ve used some high-tech hypnotizing gizmo that Q gave him? I digress – owners of the PS2 and PS3 who are raring to stretch their vocal chords this holiday season with ABBA favorites will be able to do so with SingStar ABBA, offering an authentic interactive singing experience set to the iconic music of ABBA.

Continuing to grow the PS3 library following the October release of SingStar Vol. 2, SingStar ABBA for the PS3 system allows players to capture all their special ABBA party moments by using the PLAYSTATION Eye to record their performances and share them with the worldwide SingStar community via My SingStar Online. Players also can connect to the PS3 online SingStore, giving them access to more than 400 downloadable songs to add to their collections. In an effort to enhance the North American SingStore based on consumer feedback, over 60 songs from the European SingStore will be made available to U.S. fans over the next few months.

Highlights of the new songs include:-

  • UB40 – ‘Red Red Wine’
  • New Order – ‘Blue Monday 88′
  • Men at Work – ‘Down Under’
  • David Bowie – ‘Let’s Dance’
  • Starship – ‘We Built this City’

As for those who prefer something a little more festive, you can always pick up the Christmas song pack sometime in mid-December for $6.99 with tunes from Toni Braxton, Babyface, Shakin’ Stevens, Paul McCartney and Celine Dion belting out Have Yourself a Merry Little Xmas, Sleigh Ride, Merry Christmas, Wonderful Christmastime and Christmas Eve, respectively.
