Wii Music launched

October 23rd, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Do you think you have a hidden musical talent within you, but never really got to showcase them because your parents did not send you off to music school or classes when you were younger? Well now that you’re holding down a pretty steady 9-to-5 job and have some money left over to purchase a Nintendo Wii, here is a game (so to speak) that allows you to concoct your own musical extravaganzas. It is hoped that Nintendo’s Wii Music will take off in a similar manner as compared to Wii Sports and Wii Fit, providing players with the chance to produce fun and masterful arrangements.

Wii Music brings more than 60 instruments to your living room, where you’re free to experiment with them in a variety of different ways. Unlike other music video games, Wii Music lets you put your own spin on songs. It’s all about improvisation, creativity and fun. The goal is to explore your inner musician to find creative and interesting new blends of instruments, tempos and styles. To play each instrument, you use the motion-sensing abilities of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers to mimic the real-life motions of instruments: bow a violin, strike a vibraphone or pluck a sitar. The controllers know if you’re playing fast or slow, hitting the notes gently or really jamming. Musical novices can understand how to play and start carrying a tune instantly, while people who are really into music will have fun creating mixes, rearranging tunes and sharing them with friends.

Just like any other good first party Nintendo titles, Wii Music also includes a collection of mini-games for some party fun once the serious music bit is over. The Wii Balance Board also doubles up as a drum pedal in Wii Music for added use of that peripheral, and you will be able to pick up this seemingly winner of a title for just $49.99.
