Majesco Hot ‘n’ Cold hits Nintendo DS

October 11th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Majesco is on a roll with both Nintendo platforms this generation, and this time round they have yet another game known as Hot ‘n’ Cold that will arrive on the Nintendo DS platform. What does Hot ‘n’ Cold consist of anyway? For starters, it sends players on a hunt for missing items within large environments that break new ground in the hidden object genre by being fully 3D. A fully 3D environment, eh? Hopefully the lowly graphical capability of the Nintendo DS is able to present such an environment in a realistic manner.

Have you ever lost your keys or the television remote, searched frantically for it, only to eventually discover it in the most unlikely of places? Inspired by the classic children’s game in which players use temperature cues to indicate proximity to an item (i.e. “You’re getting hotter!”), Hot ‘n’ Cold for DS challenges players to uncover hundreds of missing objects like these by using the Hot ‘n’ Cold meter as a guide for discovery. You are the leader of the Hot ‘n’ Cold Club, a group that uses its innate abilities to hone in on lost objects for distressed townsfolk. The stylus lets players lift and throw objects out of the way in 50 multi-room levels in both indoor and outdoor 3D environments. Real world physics make the search for hidden items more dynamic and fun as does the “Book Style” play that lets gamers turn the DS on its side. Three different online multiplayer modes – Hide ‘n Seek, Find the Most and Race – let gamers create their own levels by hiding objects within rooms and then sending those levels to a friend who must discover the hidden objects. These created rooms can also be shared with friends via local wireless multiplayer or the HotandColdHome.com online sharing community.

Sounds like a pretty fun game, albeit to be played in bursts and spurts. No word on how much the Hot ‘n’ Cold title for Nintendo DS will be, but it will ship beginning next year.
