October 8th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Sony has announced the North American release of NBA 09 The Inside, making it available on a gamut of platforms including the high powered PS3, the PSP and the well aged PS2 system. NBA 09 The Inside aims to offer basketball fans a comprehensive game experience that consists of character customization, unique gameplay modes and mini-games to keep the inner flame burning, and true-to-life NBA action in realistic Full HD 1080p high definition resolution. Of course, graphics can only go so far in a game, which is why NBA 09 The Inside does not fall short when it comes to gameplay as well with exciting features including Franchise mode, “The Life” on PS3, and an expanded Team Progression mode to keep seasoned veterans and newbies happy.
NBA 09 The Inside for PS3 immerses fans in a full-featured Franchise Mode for the first time, allowing players to try their hand at running a team including the management of drafts, trades, and salaries. Additionally, team performance statistics are monitored and tracked on virtually every level. The highly acclaimed “Progression System” returns with Team Progression, where players are rewarded for game exploration and advancement by providing numerous customizable player options. This year, players will have the opportunity to create up to five custom progression players and utilize them in a number of modes including Franchise, The Life, and even online. The sights and sounds of the game will be delivered just like a true NBA broadcast with authentic calls from play-by-play announcer Kevin Calabro and in-depth color commentary from current NBA analyst Kenny “The Jet” Smith. Broadcast style overlays, newly incorporated in-game highlights, and dramatic cut scenes blend together to transport gamers into a slick and organic NBA-themed world.
As for the PSP version, this title merges both arcade and simulation basketball characteristics in a single package. You will find the classic “Conquest” mode inside, followed by a new mini-game known as “Elimiquest” and “Alley Oop”, a table top arcade game tied to a bowling mechanic and is played with the PSP turned vertically. Last but not least is NBA 09 The Inside for the PS2 that lets players experience enhanced gameplay including more realistic shooting, dribbling, and core fundamentals. Guess regardless of the version you pick, this is going to be one fun title.
