Majesco announces Babysitting Mania for DS
September 24th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Majesco has yet another title under the “Mania” suffix for casual games, and this time round it is Babysitting Mania for the DS. As with previous Mania iterations, Babysitting Mania is based on the hit PC simulation game where gamers are required to juggle various tasks often associated with babysitting including feeding, entertaining and cleaning up after unruly children. There is a total of 20 chaotic houses with indoor and outdoor areas to keep you occupied, and something tells me this is a niche product and won’t really do gangbusters in terms of sales.
The sequel to the highly successful Nanny Mania on PC, Babysitting Mania is a dynamic multi-tasking game in which players must manage rambunctious kids, a myriad of chores and neighborhood birthday parties all via the Touch Screen. Players progress through more than 100 levels of fast-paced, overlapping challenges while strategically employing “timeouts” and grabbing a quick cup of coffee for an extra dose of energy. Players will also care for children in various stages of their lives–from babies to toddlers to teens–and as a bonus can choose to play as either the babysitter or the nanny character from the original Nanny Mania game.
As expected, Babysitting Mania is rated E for Everyone and will retail for $19.99. I personally wouldn’t drop that kind of coin for such a title - would you? The $19.99 can be better spent elsewhere, perhaps adding another $10 will net you a game worthy to be played on your popular handheld. I’d still go for the PC if I want really casual games.
