Resident Evil Degeneration on N-Gage
September 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Nokia and Capcom have teamed up to bring yet another title in the survival horror genre where video games are concerned with Resident Evil Degeneration that will make its debut on the N-Gage platform later this year. The entire gameplay experience has been specially tailored for N-Gage, featuring a couple of separate play modes, multiple mission types and 3D quality graphics - well, as 3D as your N series handset can handle anyways. Don’t expect it to look as lovely as the PSP or what the less powerful DS can conjure though, since cell phone graphics still have a long way to go.
The game, part-based on the upcoming October theatrical release in Japan full-length CG motion picture of the same name, focuses on the release of a deadly virus by a terrorist at a US airport and follows series favorites Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, as they attempt to destroy the virus and prevent it from being dispersed across the country. Resident Evil Degeneration is the first full-length CG motion picture from the Resident Evil series, widely considered to be the benchmark of the survival horror video game genre.
I can only guess that there’ll be no shortage of zombie killing in this title, not to mention a bunch of weapons for you to choose from. Hopefully the missions and levels on this game won’t be too long and drawn out as the cell phone is not optimized for long term gameplay - just take a look at the way the buttons are positioned and you’ll realize why.
