Majesco ships Zoo Hospital for Wii

September 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases

Majesco has announced that it will begin shipping Zoo Hospital for Wii nationwide, making this the first veterinarian game for Nintendo’s best selling Wii. Animal lovers will definitely find this title worth a purchase, since it opens up the window to the world of treating and caring for a huge range of exotic animals, ranging from reptiles to mammals and birds. In a somewhat startling resemblance to real life, you’re (unsurprisingly) working at a struggling zoo slated for demolition, which is pretty much what will happen if the worldwide economy continues to tank.

The animals in Aunt Lucy’s zoo are getting sick and causing zoo attendance to decline. Unless she can turn things around, Aunt Lucy will lose her zoo to a local landowner who wants to build a mini-golf course. To help save the zoo and its inhabitants, players will use the Wii Remote to feed, treat and soothe 48 different animals from all over the world — from gorillas to monitor lizards to dolphins — including seven not featured in the companion DS game. Medical mini-games let players eliminate parasites, extract rotten teeth, battle microscopic germs and much more. Soothing and feeding each animal while following up on post surgical patients in their enclosures is as important as precise operations, since happy, healthy animals increase the Zoo Rating which in turn affects the number of visitors patronizing the zoo. Zoo Hospital also enables up to 2 friends to treat animals together in cooperative multi-player mode.

Hmmm, sounds a whole lot like Trauma Center mixed with a generic zoo management game, along with a dash of SimPlanet. Zoo Hospital will retail for $29.99.
