Xbox 360 hits the $199 mark
September 4th, 2008 by Edwin in Gaming Hardware
If you have not yet picked up an Xbox 360, now would be a good time to do it. This high definition capable gaming console has now been priced at that level, offering unprecedented gaming and entertainment experience without breaking the bank. From September 5th onwards, the Xbox 360 Arcade will retail for $199.99, while the Xbox 360 will go for $299.99 and the Xbox 360 retails for $399.99. Of course, Xbox 360 Arcade doesn’t amount up to much when compared to its brethren since there is a serious lack of hard drive space, but hey – at least you get to watch movies from Netflix while rocking out on Rock Band 2 with your mates.
History shows that more than 75 percent of all console sales happen after the price falls below the $200 mark. For millions of consumers who have been waiting for the perfect time to buy an Xbox 360 console, their moment has finally arrived. At $199, Xbox 360 is the most affordable next-generation console on the market, offering something for everyone with the most dynamic, interactive entertainment experiences available. Xbox 360 Arcade plus a 12-month Xbox LIVE Gold Membership and a Netflix subscription costs $100 less than 12 months of digital cable. Xbox 360 invites everyone into a limitless world where the best games, movies and TV shows can be enjoyed live side-by-side with your personal pictures and music library.
If you haven’t yet gotten your Xbox 360 fix, will these new prices force your hand? On a lighter note, at least those suffering from Red Rings of Death have a cheaper replacement…
