Fallout 3 arrive this October
August 22nd, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Bethesda Softworks will be releasing the highly anticipated Fallout 3 titles in North America this October 28th, while folks in Europe will have to hold out for three more days for a Halloween release. It will be developed by creators of the 2006 Game of the Year, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, so you can be sure that Fallout 3 will not disappoint. Or at least, that’s what plenty of people think, so keep your fingers crossed. This will be a multi-platform title, so it will be interesting whether the Xbox 360, PS3 or Windows versions will sell the most. The original Fallout and its sequel were big hits, and the replayability value was practically infinite, so I have extremely high hopes for Fallout 3.
Fallout 3 features one of the most realized game worlds ever created. Set more than 200 years following a nuclear war, you can create any kind of character you want and explore the open wastes of Washington, D.C. however you choose. Every minute is a fight for survival as you encounter Super Mutants, Ghouls, Raiders, and other dangers of the Wasteland. Hailed as one of the most anticipated games for 2008, Fallout 3 has already won numerous awards including Best of Show from the official Game Critics Awards at E3 2008, a selection voted on by an independent group of journalists from 36 leading North American media outlets that cover the videogame industry.
The title has not been rated yet, but with undead roaming a post-nuclear wasteland, I would say that the “E for Everyone” rating is out of the window.
