Little League World Series 2008 for Nintendo consoles
August 6th, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized
Folks who are interested in baseball, take note! Activision has just made available the Little League World Series 2008 for both the Wii and Nintendo DS. Developed by NOW Production, the game’s main aim is to capture the essence and competitive fun of the most popular organized youth sport in the world. It will take a true blue baseball fan to appreciate the work that has gone into both titles, and it will be interesting to see more Wiimotes flying around for folks who have the Wii version as they step up to the plate and try to slug one out of the park. As for the DS, I suspect the stylus will also play a pretty important role when it comes to swinging the bat.
Little League World Series 2008 features eight U.S. and eight international teams, extraordinarily deep character customization, World Series mode, and a full season mode that will challenge even the biggest Little League fan. In addition, six mini-game “Skill Challenges”, stat tracking, talent power ups, and a range of collectibles give the title variety and depth.
The release of Little League World Series 2008 coincides with the actual Little League World Series that will take place in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania from August 15th till the 24th this month. The Wii version will retail for $49.99 while the Nintendo DS version is much cheaper at $29.99. Something tells me this won’t be a surefire hit, and most people will associate titles such as these to be shovelware, and I’m afraid that I have to agree here. What do you think - do these titles justify such a price tag?
