Perfect World to launch Hot Dance Party 2.0
August 4th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Perfect World is more often than not mentioned in the same breath as MMORPGs, and this time round things are a little bit different. The China company will be rolling out the Hot Dance Party 2.0 expansion pack come this August 5th, and it prides itself in being the first casual game developed by Perfect World with its proprietary Angelica 3D game engine. So far, domestic online game players have warmed up to it pretty well, so the expansion should see a fair amount of purchases, too.
The new expansion pack contains a number of new features on top of its existing features including the stamina management mode and the tool management mode. There are magnificent special effects, glittery fashions, the one-key changing system and the super dance club system, which allows fifty players to dance together in one dance club. With the one-key changing system, whole sets of players’ costumes can be kept in the fashion section in their backpacks. Players can change their entire costume by the shortcut key, without choosing the clothes one by one from the backpack. The system allows players to change their costumes and styles efficiently in a second. The super dance club system makes a breakthrough in the current dance game market with its ability to allow fifty players in one dance club. It allows more players to exchange their dancing skills in a dance club.
Hmmm, casual online games are really taking on different ideas and levels, which is a good thing. After all, this is more like a Sims game featuring a whole new level of gameplay, but I wonder how the dancing skills are acquired and displayed for everyone else to see. Button mashing, or a carefully choreographed keyboard tapping display?
