Wanted video game to come
July 17th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Angelina Jolie is always hot IMHO, and in her latest outing, Wanted, she never looked better. As with any self-respecting blockbuster these days, there is bound to be a tie-in with a video game on at least one platform, and Wanted is no exception. This game will be published worldwide by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and is being developed by game developer GRIN who is famous for their work on the Tom Clancy: Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter series.
The “Wanted” video game will feature intense third-person action, taking combat to a new level with iconic moves — such as “curving bullets” and “Assassin Time” — drawn directly from the film, as well as an innovative, multi-layered cover mechanic. The storyline of the game will pick up where the movie leaves off, providing fans with another chapter to explore both Wesley’s journey into becoming an uberassassin and the epic fiction of the Fraternity. The ‘Wanted’ game, in development since early 2007, will be available later this year for consoles and personal computer.
No idea on how much this will cost when it is released, but do expect a different pricing structure for all platforms. It will probably be given a R rating or one degree less considering the amount of violence the movie has. Still, I hope that this game will not be a botched attempt considering the Matrix line of video games failed to convey the sterling storytelling and on-screen action to the gamer. Until today, I still think that the Max Payne series is the one that has the most impact when it comes to firefights.
