Chicken Hunter headed for the Wii

July 16th, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized

Conspiracy Entertainment will be rolling out a character-driven Jump’n Run game known as “Chicken Hunter” for the Nintendo Wii, and this announcement comes after having seen the game’s success on the Nintendo DS handheld console. According to Marco Huesges, Executive Vice President of Conspiracy Entertainment, “Phenomedia is internationally renowned for successfully converting well-known movie and music licenses. ‘Chicken Hunter’ has a huge following in Europe, and we are excited to represent the franchise to North American audiences. ‘Chicken Hunter’ has enjoyed strong market acceptance on the Nintendo DS platform, and now is ready for play on the Wii. The game on the Wii provides enhanced functionality, including use of the revolutionary motion-sensitive remote controller as well as the unique Nunchuk, for realistic, action-packed entertainment.”

I don’t know - a game about hunting chickens? Sure, it has been done before with a different premise in Deer Hunter, but then again that’s a really niche market. Will vegans actually consider picking up this game, or have they already given it a pass? One thing I can’t deny though, them chickens are drawn in such a cute manner, it would be pretty interesting to see how well received the title is on the Wii platform.

There is no word on when this game will hit the market, and I do expect it to fail in the “E” rating under the ESRB banner considering there is a need for some supervision on certain levels with younger audience. Otherwise, you might end up with a case of dead or missing chickens in your neighborhood after your little one has had a few rounds in this game.
