Red Thumb Games has rolled out “Shelled! Online”, and it cannot be purchased anywhere else except through http://www.redthumbgames.com. Of course, for those who aren’t too happy with the thought of, er, shelling out (pun not intended) $19.95 for a game that they don’t know whether they’ll like or not, I bring good news. Shelled! Online can be played as a free trial, and if you’re satisfied with the gameplay within a certain time period, there is a choice to purchase it later at the aforementioned price.

It would be nice to see a few Koopas or even Bowser make a cameo appearance if Red Thumb Games decide to team up with Nintendo on this. I suppose should Nintendo themselves come up with a game like Worms, it will resemble Shelled! Online in more than one way. There are more than 20 uniquely scripted single player missions to challenge your wits, but as with any other game like this, it plays best against a human opponent.
