Conspiracy Entertainment to sell Summer Athletics
May 30th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
I know that the Beijing Olympics will be upon us in just a few months’ time, and this ought to see a slew of sporting titles hit gaming platforms of all kinds, regardless of whether those games will be decent or not. Conspiracy Entertainment Corporation will take up the task of marketing and distributing “Summer Athletics” for all major hardware platforms. The distribution process will begin in the third quarter of this year, and the title ought to be of some substance considering the fact that it is being developed by 49Games, the very same German development studio who came up with the best-selling “Winter Sports 2008: The Ultimate Challenge” for the Nintendo Wii and was released late last year.
“Summer Athletics” lets gamers compete in more than 25 of the most popular summer sports disciplines, including sprinting, hurdles, cycling, archery, javelin, hammer throw and swimming. Four different difficulty levels in two gaming modes, arcade and career, will provide addictive fun to both experienced and casual gamers alike. The game will feature a character editor, lifelike 3D graphics, realistic athlete animations, and an impressive stadium atmosphere complete with the flair of live competitions.
Apparently what gamers can expect (from the mouth of Conspiracy Entertainment head honchos themselves) include a more realistic and thrilling experience when it comes to sports action, featuring “robust functionality, including comprehensive character customization tools, varied control designs, and single and multi-player modes” that were specially designed to keep gamers entertained for hours on end. I don’t know about you, but isn’t summer supposed to be spent outside of the home where the weather is just wonderful, instead of being cooped up inside all day long in front of the telly?
