Guitar Hero World Tour has pricing issues
May 27th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Take a snapsnot of what’s going on around the world today and chances are you will turn away in disgust, feeling rather depressed with all the killing and sorry state of affairs that is happening around the globe. Thankfully we have forms of entertainment such as video games, offering some sort of escapism in order to run away from the present for some temporary respite. Guitar Hero, a franchise that has done phenomenally well since it was released, will be coming out with Guitar Hero World Tour that will definitely see a fair number of fans going rabid over such news. Unfortunately, there is still one unresolved issue with the title that definitely won’t go down well - its pricing. Word has it that Gamestop’s pre-order price of $189 is pretty close to the (yet unannounced) official figure, making this more expensive than Rock Band. It doesn’t matter which side of the current generation console camp you’re at - they all will retail at the same price. For those who are still rocking to the ancient PS2, you will save yourself a cool $10 during purchase.
To know just how expensive it is to pick up the game kit by kit, the guitar kit will retail for $99.99 a pop while the game is priced at $49 and $59 (PS2, Wii and Xbox 360, respectively). Watch out for Guitar Hero World Tour sometime later this fall, as at that price you will also get an electronic drum kit, a microphone and a redesigned guitar to get you rocking out of the box. Activision is also pretty ambitious, promising the largest on-disc selection of music to date.
Have you started saving for Guitar Hero World Tour yet?
