Square Enix announces Infinite Undiscovery
May 23rd, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Talk about an ironic title for a game – Infinite Undiscovery. Nevermind the mind boggling nature of its name, Square Enix will be targeting a September 2 shipping date for this Xbox 360 title, making it the first in a completely new lineup of Square Enix titles for Microsoft’s console. This fantasy RPG was co-developed with tri-Ace Inc., so fans of the genre can expect something different from the usual Final Fantasy mix of characters and spells, and not on a Sony nor Nintendo platform to boot.
INFINITE UNDISCOVERY envelops players in an engaging real-time world where every decision you make leads to a myriad of discoveries and affects every encounter. The developers that set a new standard for RPGs by fusing exploration with battle in the STAR OCEAN series establish a new benchmark for the genre, perfectly integrating traditional tri-Ace elements with the technological power of Xbox 360. The experience is enhanced with a soundtrack by composer Motoi Sakuraba from the STAR OCEAN and VALKYRIE PROFILE series.
Some of the features of the game include situational battles, where there will by a myriad of ways to defeat the enemy, and more often than not, the most obvious solution will be the wrong one. Perfect for folks who love lateral thinking puzzles, as this will definitely be a brain bustin’ experience and offers way more adrenaline rush compared to Brain Age on the DS. You will be able to assemble your rag-tag band of parties from 18 different characters, trying to outwit the enemy by choosing the best combination of abilities for the task at hand. Infinite Undiscovery will retail for $59.99 when it is released later this summer. Image courtesy of IGN.
