SingStar will be heading for the PS3 console thanks to the efforts of Sony Computer Entertainment America Inc. bringing the title there. This is one successful franchise from the PS2 platform that will make the jump to high definition gaming, and it is back bigger than ever before, featuring greater access to players as they have way more options when it comes to purchasing songs and videos of multiple genres, along with the ability to build and customize party playlists and build a community of user-created performances.
The Blu-ray disc that SingStar comes in will hold 30 chart topping singles as well as videos from the hottest artists as well as legends of yesteryears, including The Killers, U2, Smashing Pumpkins, Outkast, R.E.M., Radiohead, Britney Spears and The Pussycat Dolls. Should you get bored of all the songs found on the disc, ther is the option to download hundreds of songs from real artists and videos through the PS3 online SingStore. Each individual track will retail for $1.49, and there are plans to increase the 200 downloadable songs by 25 to 30 each month after its launch.
You will be able to purchsae SingStar PS3 as a stand-alone disc or as a bundle packaged with two high-quality USB microphones. Good thing that the game developer is green in its thinking, as fans in possession of microphones from the SingStar PS2 library will be able to recycle it and use it with SingStar PS3. SingStar PS3 has been rated âTâ for Teen.
