Activision to launch Rapala Fishing Frenzy
May 3rd, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized
Activision will be launching Rapala Fishing Frenzy later this summer, bringing the latest instalment of a popular angling game from the games publisher to the masses. Developer Fun Labs has worked closely with Rapala, famously known as one of the world’s largest manufacturer of fishing lures and #1 fishing brand in the world. I suppose this is but an extremely niche title, since fishing isn’t exactly everyone’s cup of tea. If you happen to be on the other side of the fence though, it bodes well to be thrilled. After all, Rapala Fishing Frenzy will feature heart pounding fishing action in more than 20 different tournament events to grant you a somewhat similar excitement without having to even head outdoors. One drawback though - you will definitely miss the chance to bond with nature while being confined in your living room with this game
This will be a next-gen console title, available on the Xbox 360, PS3 and the Nintendo Wii. Granted, the Wii’s graphics won’t be as spectacular as the former two no thanks to its rather limited hardware, but do remember that the Wii has an advantage over the other two where immersion is concerned, courtesy of its famous Wiimote motion controller.
According to Dave Oxford, Activision Publishing, “Rapala is the gold standard when it comes to quality sport fishing games, and Fishing Frenzy is the natural progression for the franchise. Fun Labs has refined the controls for fishing enthusiasts while making the game easy to learn and action-packed for amateur anglers.”
