Heroes of Might and Magic Online beta test
April 14th, 2008 by Edwin in Uncategorized
Ahh, Heroes of Might and Magic certainly brings back plenty of fond memories. The fact that I have uttered “just one more turn” more times than I can remember is a testament to the game’s greatness. Somehow, the gameplay was designed in such a manner where you felt as though you could go on and on without stopping, taking only the briefest of breaks to answer nature’s call as well as eat a slice of pizza on the go. NetDragon Websoft Inc. recently announced that it will be starting its limited open beta test client server of the game Heroes of Might and Magic Online, with the final game to be released later this year.
This won’t be a full 3D MMORPG though, as it will only be 2.5D. I suppose gameplay is more important than graphics, although I won’t deny the fact that graphics do play an important role in making the game all the more immersive. Based on the well-known PC game Heroes of Might and Magic, gamers will find themselves in a virtual medieval-style heroic fantasy world, where you take control of a hero who has an army at your disposal. This hero and army will be used to capture towns, but it won’t be plain sailing though as you will have to contend with random monsters as well as other well-trained armies along the way.
I’m waiting for the day where games can be easily integrated with one another, and you then find Heroes of Might and Magic characters making their way through World of Warcraft servers. Now that’d be something.
