Sam & Max to hit the Wii
April 6th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
We all know just how fun loving the Nintendo Wii console is - after all, it has spawned many a fun title (or non-game, as video game purists like to put it) that has provided countless hours of joy. Independent games developer Telltale Games has just announced that it will unveil Sam & Max on the Wii in both North American and Europe this fall, being the first season of its episodic point-and-click adventure series. I wonder how the game will shape up - if it is absolutely zany and fun like the original Sam & Max which hit the IBM PC all those years ago, I am pretty sure fans will clamor for more and more episodes in due time, potentially making this one of the best selling games series ever if the game lives up to its predecessor’s reputation.
Telltale’s series is based on Steve Purcell’s work, following the insane yet fun loving exploits of Sam the dogo detective and Max, the seemingly immortal bunny-thing that has that perpetual grin on his face along with teeth that seem to be able to devour a whale if the need ever arises. The entire Sam & Max Season One comprised of half a dozen installments, and these were incrementally released on the PC platform way back in late 2006 and early 2007, whereas the full season hit store shelves after its conclusion. Good to see that Telltale is making the effort to bring this title to the Wii, and knowing just how many whacks over an enemy’s head Max is capable of, it will be a fun time waving that Wiimote around in the living room.
