nanostray-21.jpgThe Nintendo DS is certainly one handheld console that has hundreds upon hundreds of titles in its library, but how many of those are actually good shoot ‘em ups? Even so, the good ones can be counted on a single hand. Majesco Entertainment has started to ship Nanostray 2, a sequel to one of the more memorable shoot ‘em ups on the DS platform, bringing classic arcade shooting action, spectacular graphics, brand new game modes and a wide array of bosses to keep gamers glued to their DS while forgetting about the flow of time.

According to Gui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco, “Shin’en (the developer) has pushed the graphical capabilities of the DS to create an outstanding action shooter that looks as good as it plays. Considering how few shooters are available on DS, Nanostray 2 stands out that much more as a high quality offering that fans of the genre can’t afford to miss.”

There are half a dozen game modes to choose from, with two player co-op, two player vs, Challenge (thirty over missions to keep yourself occupied over here) and the all new Simulator mode that will certainly be a hit as it requires the gamer to go on a high score hunting spree within a quartet of futuristic mini games. Throughout the game, you will be met with horizontal and vertical viewpoints which offer a greater variety between levels, while multiple control schemes and configurable weapons will be able to cater for a wider gaming audience. There are over a hundred enemies to defeat and 16 bosses to topple, so you’ll need top notch reflexes to get through Nanostray 2. Scores can also be uploaded via Nintendo’s Wi-Fi Connection, letting you pit your best scores with the highest in the world. Nanostray 2 is rated E for Everyone and will sell for $29.99.
