bestoftests.jpgThe DS’ unique ability of using a touch screen display means it is able to offer new ways of gaming unlike other traditional handheld consoles, and what better way to make use of a touch screen display than pretend it is a piece of paper? Conspiracy Entertainment Holdings Inc. has announced that it has shipped “Best of Tests DS” for the Nintendo DS across North American retail outlets. This title won’t see you blasting zombies and other baddies into oblivion with over-powered and fantasy weapons, but is instead “a quirky and entertaining twist on the famous Intelligence Quotient (IQ) Test, Best of Tests uses a series of interesting, adaptive and enjoyable puzzles and challenges to give players the opportunity to improve their scores and knowledge”.

According to Sirus Ahmadi, president of Conspiracy Entertainment, “With several hundred different questions and incremental difficulty levels, Best of Tests turns the familiar IQ test into a lively, engaging and continually fresh challenge. Research suggests that these types of brain teasers can help stimulate and sharpen our brainpower overtime. We believe a diverse gaming audience, from college students to working professionals, will enjoy the thrill of testing their intellect with Best of Tests available on the portable, handheld DS.”

I guess the Brain Age series now has yet another competitor, but all these are good as it shows parents that video gaming is not all about violence and teaching kids negative values. Several areas of one’s brain activity will be tested in this quirky title, including logic, observation, memory, speed of perception and analysis.
