eco-creatures.jpgNow this is one game that Greenpeace activists will definitely love - Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest. This title has now begun to ship courtesy of Majesco Entertainment Company, making it to stores in time for Earth Day. The main objective of this game is to promote environmental awareness by charging gamers with the uphill battle of defending and rebuilding the Mana Woods that are currently under siege from the threat of over-industrialization. Sounds familiar, and I am sure that many of us can identify with such a situation where we see our surroundings being torn down and green lungs making way for more buildings that do nothing but add to pollution and trap heat.

According to ui Karyo, Executive Vice President of Operations, Majesco, “Public awareness of man’s effect on the natural environment and the life within it increases everyday, and Eco-Creatures is the perfect game to help impart environmental consciousness on the younger generation. While the overall message is significant, the gameplay also has a great deal of depth; real time strategy fans will enjoy the robust single player game, challenging multi-player modes and Land Make feature that lets friends trade creations online.”

The inclusion of online connectivity will definitely increase the replayability of this game, and I am sure that RTS fans will find Eco Creatures to be an engaging title no matter the age. The touch screen will be utilized here, allowing gamers to command and nurture units of woodland creatures that possess unique abilities. There are three creature types on total, and it requires a keen strategic mind to ensure that these creature types will pick up new skills as you progress in the game. Gamers are charged with the task of completing 40 environmental missions. Just make sure you continue to plant new trees to revitalize the woodlands as your army grows, in an effort to prevent deforestation. Eco-Creatures: Save the Forest has been rated E for Everyone, and will retail for $29.99.
