X-Blades heading for multiple platforms
March 2nd, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
SouthPeak Games has announced that it will be rolling out X-Blades, a third-person hack-and-slash action title for next-gen consoles and PC later this year. This game will see players indulge themselves in an “enchanting anime-style heroine” who is capable of wreaking a path of destruction no matter what crosses her path, thanks to the liberal use of guns, blades, magic, and a healthy dose of cinematic flair. I guess this will be an 18+ title, since parents would probably not want their little ones to be exposed to such elements so early in life, long before their fragile minds are able to comprehend the seriousness and impact a game can have on the mind of kids.
According to Melanie Mroz, CEO of SouthPeak Games, “The unique anime backdrop combined with the high-octane gameplay really takes X-Blades into brand new territory. This genre needs a fresh take and this game delivers.”
What you will find in X-Blades include a special combination of cinematic style, beautiful animation, and relentless, high speed gameplay. You will step into the shoes of Ayumi, who has been described as “a stunningly seductive yet tenacious heroine who battles enemies with her pistol blades, acrobatic ability, and magic spells”. The game includes full anime cut scenes to keep you riveted to your seat, where the story starts off with demonic powers and spectacular landscapes greeting you. This title will be available across all next generation consoles and the PC, although pricing details have yet to be disclosed.
