February 21st, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
PlayFirst has just launched its new game - Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze, making it their second title in the Dream Chronicles franchise to hit retail stores. Developed by KatGames, Dream Chronicles 2 will see component integration from hidden object, adventure and mystery genres in order to create a unique experience for casual game players. Where do you begin with in this title? Well, Dream Chronicles 2: The Eternal Maze places the gamer in the shoes of Faye as the adventure continues between the mortal and fairy world, where Faye searches for her husband and daughter. Nice to see a game show off a good working relationship between the a daughter-in-law with her mother-in-law, in this case, Aeval. You will have to rack your brain trying to figure out different puzzles so that the mystery can be unraveled and peace restored to Faye’s lost family.
According to Kenny Shea Dinkin, vice president and creative director, PlayFirst, “The original Dream Chronicles was the culmination of dreams. Today we have a masterpiece and a hit series on our hands. With its attention to detail in storyline and gameplay, KatGames has built upon its initial work to deliver an expanded sequel — with longer gameplay, more puzzles and more depth — that will keep players even more firmly immersed than the spellbinding original.”
Some of the features found in this sequel include :-
- Extended Gameplay - 50 backgrounds, 25 chapters and a new mini-game add up to almost twice as much gameplay as the original
- Enhanced Graphics - Animated backgrounds in an Art Nouveau style
- Multi-Scene Puzzles - Challenges integrate not only items on the screen in view, but inventory items may be necessary to solve puzzles in multiple portions of the game
- Replayability - After the first round of gameplay, solutions to puzzles are randomized and objects are found in different locations in order to continue the challenge
You can download this game here, where a free trial is available for you to roam about while an unlimited play version retails for $19.95.
