Metal Gear Solid Mobile picks up top awards
February 19th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Looks like Metal Gear Solid is every bit as engaging as its console counterparts, with MGS Mobile receiving top honors at this year’s International Mobile Gaming Awards (IMGA). The title scooped up both the Grand Prix and Operator’s Choice Awards. In order to know just how prestigious this award means to a game, only half a dozen winners are picked out of almost 400 entries from 33 countries. If you happen to love portable gaming because of its spontaneity as well as the less convoluted gameplay compared to a console, Metal Gear Solid Mobile can be picked up by you later this month from Verizon Wireless in the Get Fun & Games shopping aisle of the Get It Now virtual store.
You won’t find any of the 2D crap that was seen on the Game Boy version (good thing the 8-bit days are done and gone with), as Metal Gear Solid Mobile boasts “never-before-seen dramatic 3D art displays and camera work that greatly surpass the current standard of mobile games”. That sounds like a pretty lofty promise, and with the game picking up those mentioned awards, I would be hard pressed to go against that claim. What do you get inside the game? After all, gaming is about the experience anyway. Gamers will still be placed in a situation where you perform solitary infiltration missions, and does take advantage of the camera in order to sample colors from the real world to perform an in-game camouflage action. One can also choose to switch between first and third person views while controlling different weapons.
