Spore shipping date announced
February 13th, 2008 by Edwin in Games – New Releases
Folks who have been waiting for Spore can finally breathe a sigh of relief - the title has received a shipping date. Electronic Arts recently announced that the new game from The Sims creator Will Wright will begin to ship this September 7th onwards. For those who are not in the know, Spore will place players with advancing a character progressively from primordial ooze, evolving to tiny tribes which will eventually grow into cities, great civilizations and ultimately space - the final frontier. Spore will experience a worldwide launch on PCs, Macs, the Nintendo DS and cell phones simultaneously, so you no longer have any excuse for not playing it as there are so many platforms to choose from in the first place.
This is good news for everyone involved as Electronic Arts did announce earlier that the game will launch simultaneously on PCs and Macs without revealing dates for the DS and mobile versions. Well, at least we all know now that all those mentioned platforms will see action at the same time. I must say I myself am looking forward to this title with a bucketful of anticipation since this game has been in the pipeline for many years. In fact, one might think that a three years might be a short time but in the world of gaming, that’s like…forever. Thankfully Spore did not take the route that Duke Nukem Forever did after being announced at the 2005 Game Developers Conference.
Do you think the delay in Spore’s release will result in an extremely polished title? All I know is, my DS Lite is primed and ready to receive it in its Slot-1.
